“As a woman, it has been challenging to find my rhythm, my balance, my peaceful place as I considered my roles in society and in my home, and probably even more so within myself, just like I suspect it can be difficult for men to be strong and masculine, yet also gentle and emotionally aware.”

I am by default, a creative nonfiction writer and introspective speaker. My themes revolve around life and its many people. My peaceful place consists of meaningful relationships; books, fitness, and good food; traveling off the beaten path; and mermaids—they live deeply. Back in the day, I earned my bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism.
Additionally…
I intentionally do not view myself as an expert at anything really except striving to be myself while empowering others to do the same. My rhythm resonates deeply with the swirling of both light and dark. Like a musical arrangement that goes high and low, soft and loud, fast and slow, I believe in the wholeness and fullness of life.
I persevere, triumph, struggle, and trip. I’m quite inquisitive. I want the best. Always. And sometimes I sink in the sorrows of too much. I can’t help but see, hear, and feel stories everywhere, while engaging with as many as possible to then release them back into the wild, in hopes of contributing to a better world by way of a better, more loved and secure, self.
Still Present in My Prime
My most recent writing and speaking endeavors have taken me into Tomoka Correctional Institution in Daytona Beach, Florida, where I sponsor approximately 60 men of The Unlimited Gavel Club, a Toastmasters-affiliate public speaking and leadership organization. In addition to assisting these men with speaking and leading skills, I also teach creative writing. I invite you to learn more about The Unlimited Gavel Club and its latest happenings by exploring my collaborative prison blog—Project Unlimited.
While supporting the betterment of men, I also focus on the betterment of women by co-hosting the WeWomen Wellness Retreat with family coach Heather Ross.
