This colorful poem showed up in my head and heart a few weeks ago, and so I thought I’d share it with you to kick off Valentine’s. It’s not mushy romantic. Just a short voyage through an inner world that decided to birth into the outer world. I hope it births some love in you this week.
Can I
accept my story,
and embody
the glory?
Can I
walk and talk my way out
of the mind matter and chatter?
What am I
doing?
Where am I
going?
Can I
truly, fully, wholly,
live in the mystery
of not always needing,
not always knowing?
And still feel
worthy
to love myself
and all else?
Can I see
through the brokenness
to see
through the lens of love?
Transcendental.
Nonjudgmental.
Unconditional.
Missional.
Essential.
Can I
accept my story,
and embody
the glory?
Can I
love myself
and all else?
Can I love?
