A Milestone Year

Momentous Living is about being
Daring enough to travel inside and out.
Daring enough to be daring.
Daring enough to be.

"Milestones" on each side of a fork in the path.

Milestones—those rocks that mark the distance in miles along a road to a particular destination—provide perspective on how far we’ve traveled. And like with milestones, new years offer perspective too. For me, 2024 marks a 60th milestone. This seems surreal as I hold both disbelief and belief in the same space. I wonder, Have I lived well? Am I living well? And what does “well” even mean?

This milestone year I will be exploring wellness in the context of momentous living, as in health begins with self before it can go beyond. It’s a holistic approach, in all sense of the word, that focuses on discovering our truest selves so we can give from our best selves. It’s a health that seeks personal wealth for the betterment of all.

This is not to add pressure like gym memberships and diets can do in a new year. On the contrary. I do not want to start 2024 panicked that I’m not good enough or well enough and that I need to do better and be better in 2024.  That makes me feel as if I’m already behind and there’s so much more I need to do—too much more.

Well Being in this Milestone Year

Instead, I wonder if I can step out of a pressurized timeline of unrealistic expectations, drop a few balls that do not align with my core values, and instead focus on simply living and breathing within the framework of what it means to be a “well being.” To take good care of myself through self-awareness, knowing that my wellness contributes to the wellness of our world. That wellness starts from within before it can continue on. But also knowing that remaining only within my own head and space is both limiting and a liability.

And finally, understanding that momentous living is a paradox—it’s about me and it’s not about me.

Better self. Better world.

Momentous Living in this Milestone Year

In 2017 I launched my book, Momentous Living, while also re-launching my business.

And then I set it all aside to navigate a few detours.

But many words and concepts I used throughout Momentous Living continuously showed up through the past decade, evolving into significant themes, most especially well-being as it embodies our values and all dimensions of health.

This year, I aim to further explore wellness through writing, researching, speaking, and podcasting. My goal with podcasting is to facilitate contemplative conversations with key individuals that will stretch our intellect while tapping deeper into our divine. I want to explore words, books, thoughts, and ask all those burning whys that stew and stir within our souls.

I want to explore what it means to care well for ourselves—for me and for you.

The Momentous Living Mindset

Finally, I want to be even more transparent about how the momentous living mindset factors into being a woman entrepreneur. This journey has been deeply personal and has affected my well-being in more ways than I could have imagined. Too often, my GPS would send me in an unexpected direction. Sometimes helpful. Sometimes not. And sometimes, I’d slow to a yellow-line pace, and other times get stuck in red-line congestion.

In 2024 I’m stepping into Momentous Living the book to further explore momentous living the mindset. I expect to encounter all colored lines: greens, yellows, and reds. But whatever unfolds, I intend to face it as myself, as only I can do—daring to be exponentially BOLD

Be BOLD in this Milestone Year

Be you.
Embrace whole-body health—
My body. My being. Beautiful. Holy. Worthy of Honor.
Believe in you.
Overcomer.
Lifelong learner and lover.
Through every age and stage.
Dare to be.
A better self for a better world.

I invite you to journey with me along my milestone year as we explore what wellness means in the context of momentous living, in the context of both me and you.

  1. Nice article. I too am looking for 2024 to be a milestone year for me as I transition into a year of retirement and “dabbling” in various revenue producing activities. Mostly they are activities that are fueled by my passion for writing and camping.

I never knew that you were a writer. Please let me know where I can find your books.
